RHW and the AMA have been coordinating and operating the highly successful Mediventure Program for some 15 years. Mediventure recruits, places, supports and is a mentor for general practitioners in rural areas across the State.
Australian and overseas general practitioners can expect the following services from the Mediventure Program:
| Australian Medical Graduates |

Encouragement and support for general practitioners undertaking the General Practice Rural Training Program. |

Recruitment and position placement coordination. |
| • |
Assistance with provider number documentation and medical indemnity insurance support. |

Travel, accommodation and reimbursements organized |
| • |
Hospital admitting rights organized. |
| • |
Hospital Medical Services and VMP agreements. |
| • |
Application support and confirmation of medical board registration, medical indemnity, MRSA clearance and police clearance. |

Placements confirmed in writing by the AMA. |
Overseas Trained Doctors |
| In addition to the general recruitment aspects outlined above, the following is also undertaken for overseas applicants: |

Sponsorship contracts 6 - 24 months with the option to remain longterm (conditions apply) |

All immigration matters regarding temporary and permanent sponsorship are arranged. |
| • |
One to two week orientation program is organised around your arrival date and this includes sorting out various administrative matters, introduction to the Australian health care system and a visit to a rural clinical practice. |

Manage all matters in relation to maintaining Immigration Sponsorship requirements and individual contracts with the medical practice, hospital or shire. |

Once booked, Mediventure doctors fulfil locums throughout the duration of their stay for practice doctors who are on leave, or for long term positions in an area of particular workforce need.
